Getting a CommID

A little confusion in the DEX world about how a vendor gets a CommID. There has been a document floating around saying you will get a CommID when you purchase DEX software from your software vendor. Actually a CommID is assigned by GS1, the same organization that assigns the company prefix for UPC codes.
